Globetrotting Cadeaux Touches down
Safely in Singapore |
5/13/13 -
It is not clear
whether or not horse transportation earns the owners air miles, but if
so, the connections of the globetrotting Red Cadeaux could well be in
for plenty of free trips in the years to come. Trained at Newmarket by Ed
Dunlop, the seven-year-old is yet another of his handler’s charges who
seems to thrive on plenty of racing and masses of international travel,
the likes of Ouija Board and Snow Fairy before him demonstrating just
how able Dunlop is at plundering prizes across the world and keeping his
horses fit and well at the same time. Red Cadeaux has arrived safely
in Singapore ahead of his bid on May 19 for the Group 1 Singapore
Airlines International Cup at Kranji. The gelded son of Cadeaux
Genereux was in action recently at Kyoto in Japan where he ran another
fine race in finishing third to Fenomeno in the hugely valuable Tenno
Sho over two miles, having previously run a blinding race to finish
second to the perennial favourite in the
odds on horse racing,
Animal Kingdom, in the Dubai World Cup at Meydan on March 30. In December, the winner of more
than £3.2 million in total career prize money landed his most valuable
success to date when beating the high-class Jaguar Mall by a short head
in the Group 1 Longines Hong Kong Vase at Sha Tin, a run that proved a
boon to fans
betting on racing, and netted connections a cool £710,000. As well as finishing runner-up
to St Nicholas Abbey in the Coronation Cup at Epsom last summer, Red
Cadeaux is best known for missing out narrowly on a massive success in
the ‘race that stops a nation’, beaten just a nose by Dunaden in a
memorable renewal of the 2011 Melbourne Cup. sha-tin.com - Click Here For List Of Articles
