With a move that can only be described as daring, Mirco Demuro the Italian jockey of Victoire Pisa. Made an aggressive wide move around the field around the first 1000 meters mark of the race. This daring wide run around runners allowed the horse to get into the perfect box seat position that was the ultimate key to victory.

Transcend the eventual runner up horse was the leader at this point and continued to lead until deep stretch where the game Victoire Pisa finally wore him down.

The Japanese trainer of Victoire Pisa summed it up well. “Japan is going through a very tough time,” winning trainer Katsuhiko Sumii said through a translator. “I thought the whole country was backing me up.”
